What is a Parent Forum?

The school Parent Forum is a a way of having a sustained dialogue with a committed and informed group of parents on a range of issues that impact on their day-to-day life with the school, which affect them and their children.

What do we discuss at the forum?

We will ask for your views on areas such as:

• Reading
• Use of technology
• Homework
• Playtimes and behaviour
• Wrap around care
• and more

Who can join the Parent Forum?

Every parent/carer with a child enrolled at the school.

As a member of the parent forum, you have an important role in working closely with the school by being asked your opinion by the Leadership on issues relating to day-to-day matters.

What will happen with our views?

The views of the parent forum are shared with:

• The School Leadership
• The Board of Trustees of the Trust

All the meetings will be minuted. Feedback to parents will come through the Headteacher and this will shared via a letter or presentation at the next forum.

When are the meetings?

Meetings take place once a term.

An online form will be sent out to obtain views for those who could not attend.

Do I have to commit to a role?

As this is an informal, advisory forum the answer is no.

The Headteacher is responsible for running the meetings; ensuring that the agenda is adhered to; giving everyone the opportunity to have their say; and agreeing action points at the end of the meeting.

Where can I find when the meetings are taking place?

All meeting dates will be emailed to parents and are also found on the Arbor Calendar.
